Chelsea’s world renowned enforcer Michael Essien, who has been restricted to just 4 Premier League appearances this season, is wanted on loan by Serie-A giants AC Milan. Essien is still eligible to play in the Champions League as he is not cup-tied with Chelsea and Talksport reports that Milan are keen on bringing the 31-year old to Italy.
Reports suggest that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho may considering letting Essien go out on loan as chances to feature for the Blues are bound to be few and far between for the Ghanaian this season. Essien also harbours thoughts of playing in another World Cup campaign and lack of games at Chelsea will not help the enforcer.
Mourinho is looked up to by Essien as his mentor and the Ghana international also moved to Real Madrid from Chelsea to join hands with the Portuguese last summer. Essien’s career though couldn’t take off either at Madrid or at Chelsea despite a promising start, due to a long list of injuries suffered by the former Lyon star.
