We have completed the signing of Kurt Zouma from St. Etienne...

0
Chelsea Football Club has today (Friday) signed Kurt Zouma from St. Etienne. He will remain on loan at the French club for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old central defender has joined Chelsea on a five-and-a-half year contract. This season he has made 12 league appearances for France's fourth-placed side.
The 6ft 2in Zouma is a French Under-21 international. He was born in Lyon and joined St. Etienne as a 15-year-old in 2009, turning professional in 2011. In total he has made 52 league appearances for 'Les Verts' and scored four goals

Exclusive: Arsenal to Offer £23m for Chelsea Striker

Emirates Stadium side look to make the most of change in transfer policy at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are preparing the ground work on a summer bid for Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku with Arsene Wenger said to be buoyed by the West London club’s willingness to sell Juan Mata to Man United.

CaughtOffside understands that Gunners boss Wenger has been a long term admirer of the 20 year old Belgian international but had shied away from making an offer for the Stamford Bridge starlet in previous transfer windows as he felt that Chelsea wouldn’t consider selling to a Premier League rival.

Read more Arsenal transfer news.

Chelsea’s readiness to cash-in on players Jose Mourinho doesn’t see as part of his long term plans may well offer Arsenal hope as the set to meet the club’s £23m price-tag for in-form striker Lukaku.

Lukaku has proven a big hit during loan spells at West Brom and Everton, during which time he has proven he can score regularly in the Premier League, netting 26 goalsin 53 appearances of which 16 were from the bench.

If Mourinho doesn’t see the former Anderlecht man as part his first team set-up it’s likely the Portuguese boss will look to sell the player outright in the summer rather than elect to loan Lukaku for a third straight season and in a similar turn of events as with Mata if Arsenal turn out to be the highest bidders then the Emirates Stadium side could well win the race to sign the Chelsea youngster.

Wenger is keen to strengthen his attack and a move to Lukaku not only adheres to his youthful transfer policy but would also be something of a statement of intent as he seeks to improve a potential ‘problem area’ in his squad.

Nicklas Bendtner has been called back to the Arsenal first team squad which is a measure of the paucity of options up front, with a great deal of burden heaped on French forward Olivier Giroud, not least as both Theo Walcott and Lukas Podoslki have suffered with lengthy injury problems this season.

Everton are also likely to want to sign Lukaku in the summer but are unlikely to be able to raise the funds to meet his valuation.

Chelsea agree to meet £32m release clause

1

With just five days to go before the winter transfer window shuts, the Football Transfer Tavern is starting to hot up.

Today’s speculation indicates that Chelsea are set to submit a massive offer for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa after Jose Mourinho was given the green light to press ahead with landing his chief transfer target, according to reports from The Express.

The 25-year-old hit his 20th league goal of the season yesterday during his side’s 4-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano to keep them level with Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

This superb goal scoring form has seen the Brazilian-born striker attracting strong interest from the Premier League with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all thought to be tracking the former Valladolid forward.

Costa, who is likely to star at the upcoming World Cup for Spain after switching allegiance, has a £32 million release clause in his current contract, but that isn’t thought to be a problem for the Blues, who have already added Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah this month.

Spanish reports quote his agent Francois Gallardo as stating that the Blues are now prepared to pay the asking price to land Costa.

“Atletico knows it is impossible to hold [onto Costa],” he said.

Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois could even be used as part of the deal with Atletico eager to complete a permanent transfer for the impressive young shot stopper after he spent three consecutive loan spells at the Vicente Calderón.

Mourinho has previously stated that he will wait until the summer to secure a top quality striker, but with speculation mounting about a strong attempt to bring Costa to Stamford Bridge, perhaps we can expect one more big arrival in SW6 before Friday’s deadline?

Will the Blues really be able to persuade Costa to swap Spain for England before Friday? Let us know your thoughts below

DONE DEAL! AC Milan confirm the signing of Chelsea’s star

0

Michael Essien has struggled for playing time since returning to Chelsea this season and a move was always on the horizon with the upcoming World Cup.

The Ghanaian midfielder will sign for AC Milan on a free, signing an 18 month contract when he arrives tonight.

Aged 31, Essien was once considered one of the greatest central midfielder in world football.

He has since been plagued by injury but will hope to kickstart his career again in Milan.

Chelsea Confirm Deal On Starlet Is Done ‘N’ Dusted

Chelsea confirm they have agreed terms with Wigan sending midfielder Josh McEachran on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old becomes Uwe Rosler’s third signing of the transfer window after bringing in Everton’s Tyias Browning and Cardiff’s Nicky Maynard.

“This is a big scoop for us. There’s no doubt Josh is a huge young talent,” Rosler told the club website.

“We have worked really hard to convince him and Chelsea this is the right place for him to be.”

McEachran is eligible to play in this weekend’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Crystal Palace. (BBC Sport)

Chelsea to be snubbed by attacking target in favour of new contract at current club

0

Martinez will reject the Premier League and sign a new deal at Porto.

FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez has been a long-term target for both Arsenal and Chelsea but the 27-year-old is set to sign a new deal in Portugal instead, according to the Daily Star.

Both Premier League clubs are looking to sign new forwards to try and bolster their squads, but it appears that Martinez will not be the answer.

The Colombia international has been in fine form since coming to the attention of Europe’s elite after joining Porto from Mexican club Jaguares de Chiapas in the summer of 2012.

Since then Martinez has shown great touch in front of goal and has netted 50 times in 67 games for the Portuguese champions – including five in the Champions League.

It was this form that drew the two London clubs towards the South American, although a hefty fee would be needed to tempt Porto into selling.

The Gunners have been looking at possible attacking signings since the start of the season, with only Olivier Giroud, Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo as recognised strikers at the club.

Whilst Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott can also fill in, the long-term injury to the Englishman has made things at the Emirates Stadium even more desperate.

As for the Blues, their trio of attackers – Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres – have only shown glimpses of good form in the box.

Eto’o is the top-scorer of the three this term with 10 strikes, although the 32-year-old is on a short-term deal until the summer and is unlikely to have that renewed.

Chelsea launch late €15m bid to snatch Star from Liverpool

0

Chelsea have launched a €15million bid in an attempt to snatch Mohamed Salah from completing his move to Liverpool, according to a Sky Sports Italy reporter.

Chelsea have sent in a €15million plus bonuses bid for FC Basel’s 21-year-old Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, according to Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.
The news of Chelsea increasing their initial €10million offer comes after widespread reports of the club accepting a £37million bid for Juan Mata, who is expected to complete a medical with Manchester United on Thursday.
José Mourinho praised Salah after the Egyptian international put in a MOTM performance and scored the only goal against his side in a 1-0 win for Basel in the UEFA Champions League. Salah also scored in the reverse fixture against the Blues earlier this season, and on his first visit to Stamford Bridge in the Europa League semi-final last season.
The Chelsea bid comes as unexpected turn of events as a KingFut source close to the player revealed that Salah is set to travel to Liverpool tomorrow, as Basel are said to have agreed on a transfer fee which is in the region of £10million.
This wouldn’t be the first time Mourinho hijacks a deal, as Chelsea signed Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala after the Brazilian forward completed a medical with Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
Salah previously mentioned Chelsea as one of his favourite clubs, but also stated on several occasions that he does not want to go to a club where he won’t be guaranteed regular playing time.

WOW! Chelsea already found Juan Mata replacement?!?

0

Ross Barkley is wanted by Jose Mourinho

Chelsea are set to replace outgoing midfielder Juan Mata, who is having a medical at Manchester United today, with Everton starlet Ross Barkley.

The Blues have accepted a £37.5million bid for the Spaniard from United and it is expected that the deal could be finalised later on today with David Moyes finally making a big signing at Old Trafford.
Despite being Chelsea's player of the year for the last two seasons, Mata failed to gain regular first-team football under Mourinho and that played a massive part in him choosing to move to rivals United.
However, Mourinho and co. have thought about a replacement for the 25-year-old already, and their attentions will be fully focused on signing Everton midfield-maestro Ross Barkley, who has been in superb form for The Toffees this season.
There will be no formal bid made by Chelsea in January for Barkley, but they will look to spend most of the money they made from Mata on the youngster in the Summer.

Forget Rooney as Mourinho to make Chelsea move for £40 million man

0

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to turn his attention to FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez with his pursuit of Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney set for failure.

Mourinho attempted to bring Rooney to Stamford Bridge over the summer but his bids for the England striker were immediately turned down by United.

The Portuguese recently admitted he does not expect United to change their stance with regards to Rooney this summer and has therefore turned his attention to other targets. (SportsDirectNews)

Martinez would be a great buy if the blues boss actually decides to make a move

Chelsea hoping to complete a second big transfer deal within next few days

0

Just days after signing Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is set to tie up another deal for one more of his ace targets Kurt Zouma, reports the Daily Express. Mourinho, who had earlier stated that Chelsea would not be busy in the transfer market, is suddenly beginning to turn the heat on this window by strengthening his already strong squad further.

Zouma will reportedly cost Chelsea 11 million pounds and the Blues are all set to conclude the deal this week.

Whether Chelsea will loan the 19-year old central defender back to St-Etienne for the rest of the season is yet to be confirmed but the signs are that Mourinho is looking to infuse the French prodigy straight into his first team squad.

Zouma is very highly rated in France and is also being watched by Chelsea’s rivals Man United and Arsenal, but Mourinho looks set to tie up the deal soon.

Zouma is seen by Mourinho as the future leader of his defence as talisman skipper John Terry is in the twilight of his career at Stamford Bridge and may not continue beyond next season.

A French youth international, Zouma, has been impressive in Ligue-1 for the past couple of seasons and has all the attributes to be a big success at the highest level, according to experts in France. The 19-year old is also on the verge of a national team call up soon and one could even see the youngster be made a surprise inclusion in Didier Deschamps squad for the World Cup in June.

Chelsea told £12 million will get deal done and dusted

nter Milan have reportedly demanded £12 million for Chelsea target Andrea Ranocchia.

The Italian defender has fallen out of favour with Inter coach Walter Mazzarri and is understood to want a move away from the San Siro.

The 25-year-old is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs and recently rejected the chance to join Chris Hughton’s Norwich City.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is believed to have earmarked Ranocchia as a potential replacement for veteran defender John Terry. (SportsDirectNews)

Atletico Madrid are set to make an offer for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois, who joined Chelsea from Genk in 2011, has never played for the Stamford Bridge club, having spent the last two campaigns on-loan at Atletico.

The Belgian has since established himself as one of the best glovesmen in Europe, and the La Liga outfit want to try and sign him permanently.

It’s thought that they are preparing a £10million offer for the player, but Atletico president Enrique Cerezo says he fears it won’t be enough.

“We are interested but the price is too much,’ he said. ‘We want to try to do business, but it depends on Chelsea. We must study everything.

‘For me, it is clear that Courtois is the best goalkeeper in Europe. He is incredible on the pitch.’ (Metro)

Mourinho hints at new deals for veterans

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says the club are remaining “calm” about new contracts for Ashley Cole, John Terry and Frank Lampard as he indicated that the trio may be given fresh one-year deals.
Cole, Terry and Lampard are all long-standing members of the Blues squad, having been at the club during Mourinho’s first stint at Stamford Bridge, between 2004 and 2007.
All three of the players’ contracts are due to expire at the end of the season, however, Mourinho believes there is no reason to start panicking just yet.
“What has to come will come naturally,” Mourinho said of contracts for the trio. “We don’t need to be involved in discussions publicly. Everything comes naturally.
“The players want to stay if they are playing and feel useful, if they feel important in the team. The respect the club has for them is more than obvious. No pressure.
“We will do in the end the best thing for the club and the best thing for the players. The best thing is a result of communication, of changing ideas and feelings, but it will come naturally.
“It’s different to last season, when John and Frank weren’t playing. You could guess lots of things. At this moment it’s all very calm. They trust us, we trust them. It’s not about making a contract desperately tomorrow or next week. Very calm. No stories.”

Ryan Bertrand has joined Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.
The Chelsea left back, who boasts two England caps, has started only one Premier League game this season under Jose
Mourinho, together with two Capital One Cup ties, having been hampered by injury.
However, with César Azpilicueta excelling at left-back and competing with Ashley Cole for a first-team place, the 24-year-old became available and was keen to secure first-team football.

Bertrand, who famously played in Chelsea's 2012 Champions League final-winning side, said: 'I've had to adjust many times in my career having played under several managers, so I know I can settle in here quickly and I'm looking forward to being able to contribute to the team.

Man United to move for Chelsea star

0

Man United are readying a move for unhappy Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata according to Daily Star.

David Moyes is ready to test the water with a £27m offer for the 25 year old who is seemingly now not seen as a crucial member of Jose Mourinho’s Blues squad, though it seems hugely unlikely that the West London side would sell to a domestic rival.

Mata won Chelsea’s Player of the Year award in each of this first two seasons at Stamford Bridge but from the outset Mourinho appeared to see both Eden Hazard and Oscar as more in keeping with his style of play and that initial lack of confidence in the former Valencia man may have then been the catalyst for a very average series of displays by the pint sized playmaker.

Juan Mata has failed to score in 13 Premier League fixtures and has only provided two assists in that time and as such could be set to leave Chelsea in January though interest from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona may prove more successful than a Man United approach.

Moyes would certainly benefit from the addition of a creative midfielder and at his best Mata is one of the most exciting performers in European football.

In his first two seasons at Chelsea Mata racked up 32 goals and an astonishing 48 assists.

Chelsea Transfer News: Deal Ruled out by Jose Mourinho

0

Jose Mourinho has stated that no strikers will be arriving for the club this January despite the criticism falling upon Chelsea's attacking line this season.

The Blues manager has put his faith in the talent of Fernando Torres, who recently scored in back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since October 2012.

The Portuguese said that Torres should not worry, according to the Daily Star's Gary Jones, following Chelsea's 2-0 win over Hull City:

Fernando is calm. He knows we are not going into the market now. In the summer, normally a club like Chelsea is always trying to improve and get new players but he knows that we like him and support him and he knows there is no problem.

Everyone needs strikers to score goals; the strikers are the goalscorers. If you have players in other positions who can score an important number of goals - better.

If you have a Frank Lampard - better. If you have Eden Hazard - better. But the strikers are the ones that normally score the goals.

Mourinho's comments would suggest that Chelsea will not bring in Wayne Rooney or any other attacking figures to Stamford Bridge this winter.

Chelsea bid £25m to bring Matic BACK to Stamford Bridge !!

0
Chelsea have made a £25m move to bring Benfica's Nemanja Matic back to Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder first joined Chelsea in 2009 but made just two appearances before leaving for Portugal in 2011 as part of the deal that saw David Luiz arrive at Stamford Bridge.
However, manager Jose Mourinho now sees Matic as the man to install in a defensive midfield role. Sportsmail revealed Chelsea's renewed interest last month and that Mourinho's assistant Jose Marais was due to watch the 26-year-old in Sunday's game against Porto.
Portuguese media reported prior to the game that Matic had refused to join up with the team but he played in a 2-0 win, getting booked, with goals coming from Garay and Rodrigo.

Benfica may yet hold out for more from Chelsea but have a good relationship with the London club and a deal is likely to be struck.
Chelsea hope to utilise the funds brought in from Kevin de Bruyne's expected sale to Wolfsburg.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in a defensive midfielder as the Chelsea manager is unwilling to play centre-back Luiz in that role and summer signing Marco van Ginkel is out for the season with a knee ligament injury.

AC Milan hoping to complete a deal with Chelsea Star !!

0

Chelsea’s world renowned enforcer Michael Essien, who has been restricted to just 4 Premier League appearances this season, is wanted on loan by Serie-A giants AC Milan. Essien is still eligible to play in the Champions League as he is not cup-tied with Chelsea and
Talksport reports that Milan are keen on bringing the 31-year old to Italy.
Reports suggest that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho may considering letting Essien go out on loan as chances to feature for the Blues are bound to be few and far between for the Ghanaian this season. Essien also harbours thoughts of playing in another World Cup campaign and lack of games at Chelsea will not help the enforcer.
Mourinho is looked up to by Essien as his mentor and the Ghana international also moved to Real Madrid from Chelsea to join hands with the Portuguese last summer. Essien’s career though couldn’t take off either at Madrid or at Chelsea despite a promising start, due to a long list of injuries suffered by the former Lyon star.

Bayern Munich want Chelsea's Juan Mata !!

0
Bayern Munich are interested in signing Juan Mata fromChelsea at the end of the season, according to a report.

The 25-year-old Spain international has struggled to play regularly for Jose Mourinho's side this season and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

The Mirror now claims that the midfielder is willing to stay on the Blues bench for the rest of the season in order to join Bayern in the summer.

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is ready to offer a bid of £20m, but will not make any move this month as Mata is cup-tied and will not be able to play in the Champions League.

It has also been reported that Mata could head out to Atletico Madrid on loan this month to spend the rest of the campaign with the Spanish giants, with his father and agent having held talks with Chelsea's technical director

Transfer News : Chelsea and Manchester City vying for !!

Manchester City and Chelsea are among clubs hoping to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi at the end of the season.
The highly rated midfielder has entered the final six months of his contract at Parc des Princes, adding fuel to speculations linking him with a summer exit.

And while the 26-year-old appears ready to sign a new deal with the Saints, L’Equipe reports that Manchester City and Chelsea are closely monitoring the situation.

The Premier League giants are tempted by the prospect of signing a high-quality player on a free transfer and could even submit official proposals in the coming days.

Blaise Matuidi has largely impressed since arriving at Paris Saint-Germain from Saint Etienne, and he went on to score 8 goals in 85 Ligue 1 outings.

Blues boss has ruled out selling Eden Hazard though

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will be leaving the club this month, however, has ruled out the sale of Eden Hazard in the Summer.
Reports came out yesterday suggesting that the Belgium midfielder, who has been in superb form this season, had told his friends that he was going to quit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season in order to go back to France and join Paris Saint-Germain.
As for his countryman, De Bruyne, he will be leaving the club this month after interest from German side Wolfsburg intensified, and during his press conference yesterday, Mourinho confirmed the news that he will be on his way out.
‘He has a chance to go,’ said the Blues boss. ‘He is a player that Chelsea have a couple of proposals. We keep analysing these proposals.
‘One of them is coming into a level which we believe can be a good situation for the player and also for the club.
‘We know he is a fantastic young player with lots of potential.
‘I still say I would be happy to keep him and to develop him, but we also have to analyse the player’s profile and the player’s personality and he wants so much to go, so maybe it’s a good option to let him go, in a very good deal for the club from a financial point of view.
‘The club bought him a few years ago for a small fee and now we have the possibility to sell him for a positive amount.’
‘Not agreed [a fee] but I believe between our club and the other club we will reach an agreement,’ he added.
‘The interest is big from the club, even bigger from the player. So maybe in the next couple of weeks it will be finalised.
‘We don’t need a direct replacement. I think the reason why we open the door to negotiate is because it’s a position where we have options.
‘So between [Andre] Schurrle, Willian, [Eden] Hazard, [Juan] Mata, Oscar, Ramires, it’s not a position where you sell somebody and you run to cover the position.’
However, regarding the speculation of Hazard leaving, Mourinho was pretty clear that he has no intentions of selling his star-man.
‘I’m not worried because if his value was around £40m when Chelsea bought him, two years later his value is two or three times that amount,’ he said.
‘So with our tag not to sell and with the crazy amount we would value him at, Eden is not leaving.’
