United ready to make final offer for Vidal

United hoping player + cash deal will be enough
Manchester United are ready to make one final offer for Arturo Vidal as they look to bag the midfielder before the transfer window shuts.
United have been locked in a battle with Juventus to sign the midfielder for most of the summer, with Juve insisting that the Chilean is not for sale. However, Chilean media are now claiming that United are preparing a final mega-deal in a last ditch attempt to sign him.
The offer is rumoured to be a cash sum of £42million, with striker Javier Hernandez included in the deal. The bid is set to go in shortly and United manager Louis van Gaal is hoping that it will be enough to tempt Juventus into buisness.
United are not willing to go any higher for the player, as there remains doubts over a long-standing knee problem.
If the final offer fails, Van Gaal is likely to focus on other targets but United seem hopeful that offering such a huge amount of cash, plus a player Juve are keen on, could be enough.

Chelsea end their interest in Remy

Jose Mourinho had wanted Remy to replace the injured Drogba but his interest in the Frenchman has now cooled
Chelsea have ended their interest in QPR's Loic Remy. The 28-year old has been heavily linked with a move away throughout the summer and a deal to Liverpool was nearly completed earlier on in the transfer window.
However, his move to Anfield collapsed due to a failed medical and that prompted Chelsea to enter the race to sign the striker. Reports last month claimed that Jose Mourinho wanted Remy to partner Diego Costa up front at Stamford Bridge, with Drogba now out injured.
But the Ivory Coast international has recovered much quicker than expected and it has brought an end to the Blues interest in Remy. His future at Loftus Road does still remain uncertain though. Boss Harry Redknapp wants to keep the Frenchman at the club but he is also aware that if a club in the top seven comes calling, then he is likely to move. He said:
"He didn't want to go back to Newcastle which is a massive club, so unless it's a club in the top seven I don't think he'll go. If he goes you're looking for two strikers, which isn't easy to find."

Cech seeks showdown talks with Chelsea over his future

Keeper facing Number One battle between the sticks with Courtois as host of clubs monitor situation.
Chelsea keeper Petr Cech wants reassurances from the club regarding his future, amid talk of a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Cech, who joined Chelsea in 2004, faces a fight for his jersey with Thibault Courtois this season. Courtois was in goal for the Blues opening Premier League game with Burnley on Monday.
Cech is set for a meeting in the coming days with boss Jose Mourinho, with the understanding that the club could be willing to let him go if he sees his future elsewhere.
Real Madrid, Monaco and Paris St Germain are all monitoring the situation closely, but with the transfer deadline looming, they will need to act fast.
Mourinho faces a battle to keep both of his top class keepers happy, and has stated his intentions to give them both opportunities to stake their claim in high profile games.
The Portuguese said "Obviously you cannot change a keeper if he makes a mistake, but you can change if he makes five mistakes. if the goalkeeper brings stability to the team, I see no reason to change".
Courtois has previously stated that he didn't return to Chelsea from loan at Atletico Madrid to sit on the bench?

Premier League duo tracking Carvalho

Arsenal and Chelsea keeping tabs on Portugese powerhouse
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping close eyes on wanted Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.
The midfielder has been identified as a target by both Premier League clubs, with Manchester United also reportedly holding interest in the player.
Earlier in the summer, it was revealed that Carvalho has a release clause of £35 million, but it appears that both Arsenal and Chelsea are hoping to sign the player for £10 million pounds less.
Scouts from both clubs were sent to watch the midfielder in action over the weekend according to reports in Portugal, with Arsenal looking the more likely to sign Carvalho.
However, it was a game to forgot for the Portuguese youngster, who was sent off after 66 minutes for a second bookable offence.
The Premier league duo will be weighing up a move for the Portugese midfielder in the coming days.

Demba Ba hits out at Jose Mourinho

Former-Chelsea striker claims he was never given a chance
Former-Chelsea striker Demba Ba has criticised Jose Mourinho for not giving him a proper chance at Stamford Bridge.
Ba, who ended his dismal career in London this Summer by joining Turkish side Besiktas, has claimed that Mourinho never gave him a real chance to prove himself at the club due to not being a star-name.
Mourinho continued to play Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o ahead of Ba, and despite his crucial goal in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, the Senegal international couldn't keep his place in the first-team.
Since securing his move to Besiktas, Ba has looked back at his time at Chelsea, and he has blamed Mourinho for not giving him a deserved chance.
‘Sometimes when you are at a club with a lot of big stars, the name counts for more than the statistics. Unfortunately, it was like that in my case,’ said the 29-year-old Senegal striker. ‘But I am happy I moved from Newcastle to Chelsea and achieved what I did. I have lots of friends there. Eden Hazard is one of my best friends, I am close to Branislav Ivanovic, too. All my wishes are for them to win the league.’
Ba also revealed just how close he was to joining Arsenal last Summer on loan, before Mourinho cancelled the deal due to The Gunners signing Mesut Ozil.
‘I always said the move to Arsenal was close. I thought the deal was done and I would just go and do the medical, but it went another way,’ he added. ‘Jose has said why it didn’t happen. He was honest, he just didn’t want to give them a striker who could score goals, especially with the arrival of Ozil. Now I am playing Arsenal in such a big match. It’s crazy but I’ve no regret on everything that happened.’

Moses set for Stoke switch

Winger set to arrive at Britannia Stadium on loan as Redmond move stalls
Stoke City are set to complete the signing of Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a season-long loan.
This could end Stoke's search for some natural width to add to their ranks. They had spent most of the summer chasing Oussama Assaidi of Liverpool, who spent last season at the club.
Stoke had also been interested in Norwich City's Nathan Redmond, but it now appears that they are after Moses instead.
Moses, 23, had spent last season on loan at Liverpool, and it now appears he could struggle for game time at Stamford Bridge, as he did at Anfield.
Moses has scored 10 goals in 43 games since joining Chelsea for £9M two years ago, and also went to this summer's World Cup with Nigeria.
Now, it seems he is set to go from Brazil to the Britannia

Jose Mourinho has ruled out signing Mehdi

The Blues Boss claims Chelsea wont be making a move for the Roma defender
The Blues have looked at signing the £30million rated centre-back.
Manchester United are also interested in Benatia but the Blues have made inquiries.
However, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has denied any interest in the 27-year-old.
"No, we're not interested," Mourinho said.
"We have John (Terry), (Gary) Cahill, (Branislav) Ivanovic, (Kurt) Zouma, and we want to integrate (Andreas) Christensen.
"Step by step [for Christensen], training with us, every day, playing a few minutes when it is possible, playing with the Under-21s and training with us as a first-team squad member.
"We are fine. are, we are well set in defence."

Chelsea could cash in on Cech sale to fund Varane move

Chelsea's will launch stunning raid for Real Madrid defender if they sell goalkeeper Petr Cech
With the battle for the number 1 goalkeeping jersey seemingly won by new arrival Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea will look to cash in on legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech in order to find bid for Real Madrid centre back Raphael Varane.

Its no secret that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho rates the French defender so highly, he's described him as 'The best young centre back in the world' and would love to add him to the blues squad this summer.

Chelsea are closely monitoring the contract situation between Varane and his current club Real Madrid and will look to pounce if Petr Cech is sold with a host or clubs lining up for his signature.

Coincidently enough it's Real Madrid who appear to be first in that queue with their goalkeeping situation looking uncertain for 2014-15 and a deal could be struck seeing the two move in opposite directions.

With Chelsea's 20million bud for Atletico's Miranda rejected Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to a player he knows well and could be a potential long term replacement for John Terry.

The French international defender impressed at the recent Fifa World Cup and is thought to be open about a move to the Premier League.

Madrid line up Gustavo

Spanish giants could part ways with Khedira finally
Real Madrid are ready to beat Manchester United to the signing of Luiz Gustavo, as it appears Sami Khedira will finally move on.
Madrid are still currently in talks with Khedira over his future, and it is understood that the German has stood firm and asked to leave.
The Spanish giants are reluctant to let Khedira leave for free once his contract expires, and will look to cash in on the World Cup winner.
This has alerted the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal who are both admirers of the defensive midfielder, and will look to table bids in the coming days.
Now, Madrid have turned their attentions to Wolfsburg midfielder Gustavo as Khedira's replacement, who has a buy-out clause of £26m.
Manchester United have already made enquiries about the player's availibility, but it appears that Madrid could beat them to the signing of the player.

Liverpool legend to return to Anfield?

Real Madrid set to offload Xabi Alonso after concerns over the midfielders weight
Real Madrid are said to be considering offers for Xabi Alonso as the club are concerned about the midfielders weight. Alonso has fallen down the pecking order at Real after the arrival of World Cup winner Tony Kroos.
According to El Confidencial the club are said to be concerned about Alonso's lack of fitness and also the amount of weight the midfielder has lost during pre season. Carlo Ancelotti is supposedly worried about the lack of strength showed by Alonso in training.
As brought to you by SillySeason earlier Madrid are interested in Wolfsburg's Luiz Gustavo and it seems the defencive Brazilian would be brought in to replace the outgoing Alonso. The midfielder wouldn't be short of suitors as linking up with Rafa Benitez will always be an option for Alonso. Also a return to Liverpool would be more than welcomed by fans as Alonso is a Liverpool legend.
The question is though would Alonso prefer a move to the fast pace of the Premier League or a move to the Serie A were the play isn't as fast paced. Also linking up with former Madrid team mates Higuain, Callejon and Albiol would help Alonso settle in at Napoli.

Arsenal close to agreeing William Carvalho deal

The Gunners are closing in on Chelsea and Manchester United target
\
According to reports, Arsenal are close to agreeing a fee with Sporting Lisbon for midfielder William Carvalho.
The Gunners had a formal £24million bid rejected last week by the Portuguese club, but talks have carried on between the two sides, and now reports are suggesting that a breakthrough has developed in the discussions.
It's believed the talks are going well and the gap between asking prices are narrowing, but it's still unknown whether Arsenal will up their price anymore.
Carvalho, who has been a target of Chelsea and Manchester United previously, has a £37m release clause in his contract, but Lisbon are open to reducing their asking price.
The 22-year-old is only in talks with Arsenal, despite the reported interest from the other two Premier League sides.
