“Omeruo will leave Chelsea” – Keshi

0

Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi has predicted that Kenneth Omeruo will quit Chelsea and move to a team where he will be given the chance to play regularly.
The 20-year-old defender spent 18 months on loan at ADO Den Haag, before returning to Stamford Bridge in the summer, but Keshi is eager for his first-choice centre-back to develop better.

“I know he will leave Chelsea soon and it will be on loan. This is a World Cup year and I’ve told him that he needs to be playing regularly to have a chance of being part the team to the World Cup,” Keshi told supersports.com.

“Kenneth is an important player for us and he showed that this year during the (Africa) Cup of Nations. It was good at the time that he spent his time on loan in The Netherlands (with ADO Den Haag after signing for Chelsea) and that helped his career well.

“I believe he will leave Chelsea soon (on loan) to have playing time since this is a World Cup year,” said the former Mali and Togo manager.

Omeruo played a key role in the Super Eagles’ run up to winning the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Ashley Cole wants Luke Shaw at Chelsea

0

Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has revealed that he'd like to see Luke Shaw - a reported target for Manchester United - replace him at Stamford Bridge, reports The Guardian.

The Southampton defender has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent months, with suggestions that he could leave St Mary's at the end of the season.

Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino has frequently denied that Shaw is set to be sold, reiterating that the England U21 international is happy on the south coast, after signing a bumper five-year contract back in August.

David Moyes has been credited with an interest in bringing the 18-year-old to Old Trafford, as he continues his search for a long-term successor for Manchester United vice-captain Patrice Evra.

The Red Devils manager has also been linked with a move for Leighton Baines - who he worked with during his time at Everton - but after failing to lure him from Goodison Park, is now understood to have turned his attention to Shaw.

However, Moyes could face competition for the talented teenager's signature from rival suitors Chelsea, particularly after Cole's Twitter comments encouraging Jose Mourinho to make a bid.

"How does it feel that Chelsea want to buy Luke Shaw to play over you?" one follower asked the 32-year-old during a recent Q&A session. "Hope to see him there to be honest" was his response.

Cole's stance might come as a surprise, particularly at a time where the full-back finds himself out of first-team favour in west London, with Mourinho currently preferring to play Cesar Azpilicueta out of position on the left side of defence.

Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Could Jose Mourinho bring Nemanja Matic back to the club?

Overhaul: Will Jose Mourinho start his rebuilding job at Chelsea in January?
Shaun Botterill
Much has been made of the rebuilding job facing Jose Mourinho on his return to Chelsea as the title winning squad he put together in his first spell is ageing.
The Portuguese manager will need to find long-term replacements for some of his most loyal servants such as John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashely Cole as they reach the autumn of their glittering careers.

But the days of mega-rich owner Roman Abramovich bank-rolling a complete overhaul of the squad appear to be a thing of the past as the club comes to terms with new rules on financial fair play.

Chelsea are still in the fight to take the Premier League trophy from Old Trafford, but there is no doubt that Mourinho would like to raid the transfer market in the next few weeks.

We'll bring you all the transfer news and rumours on Chelsea  from all the newspapers and websites every day so you can keep up to date with the very latest right here.

Friday's Chelsea transfer stories from the Daily Mirror
Chelsea could tempt cash-strapped Benfica with £10 million in return for Lazar Markovic AND Nemanja Matic according to John Cross.

The pair could be part of a fire sale at the Portuguese club who are desperate to raise funds to ease their money worries.

Friday's Chelsea transfer gossip and rumours from other newspapers and websites
Talksport are confident that the offer of some cash plus Demba Ba could be enough to push through their bid for Fredy Guarin.

Negotiations for the Colombia star have been ongoing and are believed to be at a critical stage with the clubs unable to agree a fee.

Inter Milan are reportedly unwilling to drop their £16.5m price tag for the former Porto man.

Ba has found his chances limited at Stamford Bridge this season and has scored just three times since his move in January.

And Mourinho is hoping that the offer of Ba could be enough to tempt Inter chiefs into a deal

Chelsea's courting of Southampton youngster Luke Shaw has found support from the unlikeliest of places - Ashley Cole.

The Chelsea man has been struggling to hold down a place under Mourinho despite recovering from a troublesome rib injury.

The Portuguese schemer has preferred to play César Azpilicueta out of position than pick Cole.

18-year-old Shaw is one of the most highly-rated young full-backs in the country and speculation about him joining the west London club to battle Cole for the left back spot has been rife.

But according to the Guardian Cole has taken to Twitter to back any deal to bring him to the club. When asked how he felt about Chelsea eyeing the Saints player, Cole replied: "Hope to see him there to be honest.

On his way out of Stamford Bridge could be young goalkeeper Thibault Courtois according to the Mail.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan in Spain with Athletico Madrid in a bid to get some first team action.

And the highly-rated Belgian has been in such good form that his performances have caught the eye of scouts at Barcelona.

The Spanish giants are in the market for a long term replacement for their veteran stopper Victor Valdez.

And although Chelsea may not want to let the youngster leave it would be hard to convince him to stay with Petr Cech in undroppable form.

And finally, Jose Mourinho is reportedly lining up a £48 million bid for Napoli hotshot Gonzalo Higuain.

Reports in the Sun suggest that the Argentine striker could be on the move as the Italians are ready to sell.

Former Arsenal target  Higuain, 26, played under the Special One at his former club Real Madrid.

Napoli signed Higuain from Real only last summer for £34.5m.

Hazard wants to leave Chelsea on loan !!

0
Zulte Waregem loanee Thorgan Hazard believes
he's getting closer to the level needed to play in the Chelsea first-team, but isn't expecting a breakthrough next season, and has set his sights on a temporary move abroad.

The 20-year-old midfielder - who is the younger sibling of Blues ace Eden Hazard - arrived in west London from Lens in 2012,
and has aspirations of one day playing in the same side as his brother.

"When I joined Chelsea in 2012, I knew I wouldn't be a first team regular," he explained in an interview with Sport Voetbal Magazine.

"I chose Chelsea because I hope to play in the same team as my brother Eden one day. It's my dream to play together.

Mourinho wants to land £54 million Spanish superstar for Chelsea

0
Chelsea are once again eyeing up a move for Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos, but face
a battle for PSG to nail down his signature.

Ramos was courted by the Blues in the summer, with the Spaniard revealing he spoken over the phone to Jose Mourinho before snubbing a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been leaky as of late, shipping six goals in their last two games.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti
has already made it explicitly clear that Ramos is not for sale, when he told the Spanish press last week: “Everyone knows the importance of Ramos, technically, and what he has achieved at this club. “ (Daily Express)

Barcelona Targets Chelsea Star !!

0
Courtois, who is currently in the middle of his third successive loan spell with Atletico Madrid, has made it clear that he will only return to Stamford Bridge if Jose Mourinho can guarantee him first-team opportunities.

However, it's currently unclear whether the Portuguese coach will stick by the 31-year-old Petr Cech
or put his faith in the returning Courtois, who is ten years younger.

Barcelona have yet to sign a replacement for Victor Valdes, who will leave the Camp Nou at the end of the season.

However,
they have been strongly linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach shot-stopper Marc-André ter Stegen.

But the Catalan giants could yet make a move for Courtois, who picked up the Best Goalkeeper of the Year trophy at the LFP awards last week, if they believe Mourinho does not intend on using the Belgium

Chelsea look to trump Arsenal to the signing of former Liverpool target Diego Costa

0

Blues manager Jose Mourinho is eager to add to his attack in the upcoming window with striking trio Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba failing to hit the back of the net on a regular basis.
Mourinho is still interested in bringing Monaco striker Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge, but a transfer for the Colombian star is becoming increasingly unlikely due to the French club's huge £80m asking price.
Costa, who was subject of a £20m bid from Liverpool during the summer, is considered by Chelsea as a less expensive alternative to Falcao and has impressed Mourinho with a number of commanding performances in the Champions League for Atletico.

Despite signing a new contract in the summer which keeps him at the club until 2018, Costa's form has seen a number of top clubs tracking his progress.
Arsenal have been running the rule over Costa, 25, in recent weeks and reports suggest the club sent chief scout Steve Rowley to Spain to watch the Brazilian ace in action during Atletico's Copa Del Rey match against Sant Andreu.

But according to reports in Italy, Chelsea will attempt to bring Costa to England in the new year and are hopeful of securing a deal by offering Romelu Lukaku in exchange.

With Lukaku currently on-loan at Everton for the rest of the season, Chelsea are hopeful Atletico will accept a deal that will see the Belgian star move to Spain next summer.

Costa has been a major factor in Atletico's sensational season with the club currently level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone will be desperate to keep his star striker, who has scored 21 goals this term, at the club as he looks to break Barcelona and Real Madrid's dominance of the Spanish top flight.

However Simeone could be powerless to stop Costa leaving the Vicente Calderon as it is believed the forward has a £32m buy-out clause inserted into his current deal.

Chelsea are the new favourites to sign Serie A enforcer

0

There are some intriguing reports in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.

The Daily Star suggests that Chelsea are the new favourites to sign Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia in January ahead of other Premier League suitors.

It has been notable in recent weeks that Chelsea have looked far from solid in defence and their defeat in extra-time to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup has now reportedly caused Jose Mourinho to look at other options with Ranocchia on the agenda.

The 25-year-old centre-back has struggled for game time at the San Siro this season and it is thought that the Serie A club could be willing to sell the towering defender as Mourinho eyes a busy transfer window.

Inter’s reported interest in Brazilian defender David Luiz could put the Blues at the head of the race for the impressive Italian international, with a potential swap deal being mentioned in the tavern.

However Ranocchia himself has recently played down any possibility of leaving Inter: “Many silly things have been written about me, that I am unhappy and I want to leave.

“I am just thinking about this shirt and paying back the fans for the affection they have for me.”

Despite this, he is yet to agree a new contract with the Serie A giants, which has understandably alerted the attention of other Premier League with Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United all m

Ashley Cole Won't Play vs. Arsenal After Attending Gunners' Christmas Party

0
Former Arsenal and current Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole decided to join the Gunners at their annual Christmas party ahead of a crucial match between the two teams, and he was photographed taking part in the festivities.

He may regret that decision, as it took Jose Mourinho out of the holiday spirit. The manager relegated Cole to the bench.

Here are Mourinho's comments, via Gerry Cox of The Telegraph:

I have my opinion but I keep it for myself.

It was a free day for them (the players), so I'm not a father, I'm a manager. I can control what they do when they are with me. I cannot control what they do when they are not with me.

I don't want to comment. I've not even given my opinion to Ashley Cole because I don't have to. It was his free day, his free night. The next morning we didn't train. We only trained in the afternoon, so I have no right to make a comment. I won't. I just have my opinion.

He was a bit blunter when asked where Cole stood for the game against the Gunners on Monday:

On the bench or at home.

I will play Branislav Ivanovic at right-back and [Cesar] Azpilicueta at left-back. From the beginning, Ashley is not playing, unless something happens between now and Monday. Normally, I'll play Azpilicueta at left-back.

While Mourinho managed to convey how he felt about Cole attending Arsenal's Christmas party despite his "no comment" approach, it's unclear if Cole would have started for Chelsea in this game in the first place.

He has been benched for Chelsea's last six Premier League matches and has remained on the bench in eight of the team's last 10 matches. That's not good news for him in a World Cup year, as he tries to hold off Everton's Leighton Baines as England's first-choice left-back in Brazil.

And it remains to be seen if it will play well with the other veteran members of Chelsea's team, as players like Frank Lampard and John Terry haven't seen their roles diminished and may feel compelled to stand on Cole's behalf.

As for Cole attending the Arsenal Christmas party, that's something that will probably upset supporters more than it would his teammates. Most players feature for more than one team in their career, and relationships don't disappear once they change kits, so it's unlikely Chelsea's players will take an issue with Cole's attendance at the party.

Of course, with the Blues and Gunners playing a key match on Monday, the timing could have been a little better.

Pep Guardiola plots move for €50m-rated Chelsea star

0
Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is lining up a January bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz,
according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Brazilian international has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge, with Gary Cahill and John Terry now Jose Mourinho's preferred
centre-back partnership.

Luiz was dropped following the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle earlier last month, and the former-Benfica star has since been linked with a move in the winter window.

Chelsea boss desperate to sign prolific Argentina star

0

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is becoming increasingly desperate to land a top-level striker, and has identified Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain as a potential January signing, according to A Bola.

Argentina international Higuain, who worked under Mourinho at Real Madrid, was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer. However, Napoli pipped the Gunners to his signature after offering a more lucrative package.

The 26-year-old cost Napoli a reported £34.5m fee - and Chelsea would need to offer considerably more money in order to tempt the Serie A side into selling the prolific striker, who has netted 12 goals in 20 appearances this season.

Mourinho's own strikers have struggled this season. Fernando Torres has scored two goals in 12 Premier League matches; Demba Ba has bagged just one from eight, while summer-signing Samuel Eto'o has netted two goals in nine games.

Chelsea also have Romelu Lukaku on their books, but the Belgium international - who has scored eight league goals from 12 games this season - is on loan at Everton for the rest of the campaign.

Chelsea could bid for Tottenham star

0

Chelsea could consider an audacious bid for Tottenham midfielder Paulinho this January if they miss out on Fredy Guarin.

The Brazilian only arrived at White Hart Lane this season, but could already be on the way out this winter having impressed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho with his displays in the Premier League, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Paulinho was wanted by a whole host of big clubs during the summer, and with Tottenham in something of a crisis at the moment following some dismal results and the sacking of manager Andre Villas-Boas, the 25-year-old may feel it is worth moving on quickly.

Chelsea's first choice to improve their midfield remains Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin, but Paulinho is also thought to be on his list of targets, as well as Benfica playmaker Nemanja Matic.
Paulinho moving from Spurs to Chelsea would have slight echoes of Willian's move to Stamford Bridge this summer, when a deal with Tottenham looked all but complete before a last-minute change of heart.

Chelsea target and Barcelona star Lionel Messi

0
Reports have claimed Chelsea target and Barcelona star Lionel Messi could leave the Nou Camp

Messi has revealed in the past his desire to end his career at Barca,
but Spanish newspaper AS claim that the possibility of the 26-year-old quitting the Nou Camp is looking more likely than ever.

There are still four and a half years remaining on Messi’s current contract, but the Argentina international’s agent believes his client deserves an improved contract since the arrival of Neymar in the summer, who is the club’s highest earner.

But Barcelona vice-president Javier Faus has admitted that the club have no intention of giving in to Messi’s salary demands after he signed a new deal only last year.

“We do not have to renew Messi’s contract every 6 months. There is no reason to do it,” Faus said

Scouting Chelsea's Rumoured January Transfer Target Hulk

0

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Brazilian forward Hulk since his days at Porto. A deal to
bring the 5’11” striker to London fell through in summer 2012, and he ended up moving to Zenit Saint Petersburg in September that year. FoxSports have reported that Jose Mourinho is preparing to move for the unsettled star in January, while the Russian club are ready to sell him for the right price.

According to the BBC, Hulk cost around £30 million when he moved to Russia’s second city in 2012, and Chelsea would have to spend a Fernando Torres-sized fee if they are to secure his services in January. However, there are plenty of reasons why Roman Abramovich should get his checkbook out.

Having begun his career in Brazil and Japan, Hulk became a legend at Porto under former Blues boss Andre Villas Boas. He won three Portuguese cups and three league titles, as well as the Europa League in 2011. In that triumphant season, playing alongside Radamel Falcao, Hulk scored 28 goals in all competitions, only five behind the Columbian’s tally.

Despite reportedly being unhappy in Russia, and suffering some racist abuse from Zenit’s own fans, Hulk has scored nine goals in 13 league starts so far this season. That’s nearly double the five goals that Chelsea’s current strikeforce of Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Torres have managed in 15 games. He has also racked up as many assists as the Blues’ strikers combined, as well as taking 4.3 shots per game to their average of 1.9.

Hulk’s strength and dribbling ability give opposition defenders plenty of trouble, and he draws almost as many fouls as Eden Hazard.

The big concern with bringing in a superstar striker is how it will affect the current crop of players. According to Sky Sports, Romelu Lukaku handed in a transfer request after Eto’o joined the club, and the addition of another striker could push the promising youngster further away from his parent club. However, with one or more of the current trio likely to be sold to finance a move for Hulk, Lukaku would still have a place in the squad when he returns next summer.

If they were to sign him in January, Hulk would be ineligible for the remainder of Chelsea’s Champions League campaign. Despite this, with the Premier League still very much up for grabs and their challenge for the FA Cup set to begin in January, Chelsea should try their utmost to secure his services to stand a better chance of winning some silverware.

Chelsea star Juan Mata’s proposed January move to PSG is as good as done, reports claim
The Spanish playmaker has been unsettled at Stamford Bridge this season since the arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho, and came close to an exit during the summer.
PSG remain one of his many admirers, and the Ligue 1 champions look set to beat the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United to his signature.

Although Mata has been one of Chelsea’s best players over the last couple of seasons, he has not always been a regular this year under Mourinho and wants a move to ensure he can put himself in contention for a spot in Spain’s World Cup squad for next summer. (SportsDirectNews)

Chelsea Edge Closer to Completing €55m Deal to Sign Radamel Falcao

0

Stamford Bridge side move nearer to signing AS Monaco ace.

Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a stunning move for AS Monaco forward Radamel Falcao according to El Confidencial.

The 27 year old is apparently set to leave the principality side and a move to Real Madrid is now no longer an option according to this source and Roman Abramovich is ready to make an offer of €55m for the Colombian, who has been in fine form for his Ligue 1 side this term.

The former Atletico Madrid man is however apparently unsettled at the Stade Louis II side, just months after arriving at the club, and the fact that Falcao shares the same agent as Blues boss Jose Mourinho, Jorge Mendes, and this could well be a motivating factor in Chelsea’s advances for the free-scoring forward.

Chelsea could well do with a prolific forward to lead their attack given that Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o, with just five Premier League goals between them, are failing to effectively spearhead Mourinho’s front-line.

Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti is not thought to be interested in Falcao, the Italian putting a great deal of faith in French international Karim Benzema, and as such this could leave Chelsea with a clear run at bringing in Falcao, who would of course be free to compete in the Champions League this season.

Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Want £15 Million Fredy Guarín

0

Chelsea hope to secure the services of Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarín for £15 million when the transfer window re-opens next month, according to the Guardian.

The Blues were initially hoping to land the 27-year-old for £12 million but are prepared to pay what it takes in order to see off interest from other elite English clubs, with Manchester United reportedly keen.

The Colombian is a versatile midfielder who usually operates centrally or from the right, and has spent time at Saint-Étienne and Porto prior to his move to the San Siro.

Jose Mourinho already has a wealth of midfield options but is looking to take some of the pressure off Frank Lampard and Ramires, who have been used extensively this season.

His side have also been depleted by the loss of Marco van Ginkel, who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with ligament injury.

Moreover, the arrival of Guarín would allow Kevin de Bruyne leave in January, either on loan or permanently, having failed to leave a lasting impression at Stamford Bridge since joining from Genk last year.

The Belgian hasn’t played a league game since August 26, against Manchester United, and is down the pecking order in west London.

Mourinho isn’t looking to make wholesale changes to his side in the New Year, given the desire to comply with Uefa’s new Fair Play Rules, but may look at adding defender Kurt Zouma from Saint-Etienne in addition to Guarín.
