Liverpool edge ahead of Spurs in race for Belgian starlet

Player dubbed as 'next Eden Hazard'
Liverpool have enquired about PSV Eindhoven's young Belgian Zakaria Bakkali.
According to Belgian media, talks have been productive, with a £8million bid rumoured to be on the table. If the Reds were to bag the promising youngster, he would be their 4th signing of the summer, and take their total spend to around £65million.
Bakkali has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence at PSV, starting from the youth squad and working all the way up to the first team. He was even awarded his first national cap this year. He has been dubbed as part of the 'golden generation' including stars such as Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas.

Arsene Wenger believes Eden Hazard failed to perform at the World Cup

The Arsenal Boss insists Eden Hazard failed to produce the goods when it mattered this summer at the World Cup
Hazard had come off the back of a remarkable season with Chelsea as he helped the Blues finish third in the Premier League. His scintillating performances won him the PFA Young Player of the Year award, with the main gong going to Luis Suarez for his efforts with Liverpool.
After such a brilliant season, Hazard was tipped to shine for Belgium at the World Cup but he failed to play to the best of his ability. The Belgians crashed out at the quarter-final after a 1-0 defeat to Argentina.
Arsene Wenger believes the Hazard, who recently criticised his countries showing, could and should have performed better than he did, believing that it was a mental situation that stopped the former Lille man.
Wenger told the BeIN Sports: “No, he did not play as well as I know he could and in the Premier League he is an exceptional player and he is a fantastic player who makes things happen and I always had the idea that with Eden Hazard nothing affects him. In the big games he is great but in this tournament when Belgium really needed him he could not really deliver and I believe it’s mental.
“He is still young and the World Cup belongs to people between 25 and 30, you know, and we have seen Messi before going to World Cups and being anonymous. And whilst he was dominant for his club, he struggled for Argentina. So there is a huge pressure that is put on players in the World Cup and only the really experienced players can handle that.”
Eden Hazard attempted just four shots at the World Cup. What do you think?

Kroos to decide future after World Cup

The Bayern Munich midfielder is being chased by Man United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos claims that he won't be making any decision on his future until the World Cup is over, with Man United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid all interested. The 24-year old is in high demand this summer after developing into a top player for club and country.
He has just one year left on his current deal but Bayern have said they would rather keep him at the club until his deal expires, instead of cashing in on him now. But reports in Spain suggest this may not be the case, as they claim Real Madrid have now made a verbal agreement, while Barcelona have sent officials over to Brazil in an effort to lure him to the Nou Camp.
But the German is keeping quiet about any potential deals as the World Cup continues. When asked about any approaches he said:
"Now's not the time to talk about that sort of thing. My mind is focused on Germany and the goal of winning the World Cup. That's what's important right now. I've got a contract with Bayern until 2015 and over the last five months I've had plenty of similar situations.
"When it's not Real, it's United. They're great teams just as Bayern is. If there's a decision to be made, it'll be after the World Cup."
